Many amazing young people have crossed our path over the years and left quite an impression on us. We would like to celebrate the ones that are no longer with us in hopes that their legacy will help others. Every year, LaptopSchools.org donates computers in their memory to be used as scholarships for students, at the discretion of a teacher, coach, mentor or parent.

Javier Navarro – Breaking Barriers – North Monterey County HS

• Student, graduate, father, pillar of his family and dear friend. A true example how you do not have to be a victim of your surroundings, and a cautionary tale of how fragile life can be. Javi left us too soon, but the example of how he took control of his life continues to inspire others.

⁠Rhys Hunn – Reaching for the Stars

• Actor, singer and dear friend lost her hard-fought battle with cancer at 13, after 4 years of giving it her all.

Mackenzie Dykstra – Staying Positive – Carmel High School

• Volleyballer, first love and true warrior kept a smile on her face and love in her heart through her 7-month battle. We never knew a kinder soul and we only knew her for 7 months.
